Delete your account in the app

1. Open Sober Motivation and sign in.
2. Go to Settings, then More.
3. Tap Delete Account.
4. Type DELETE to confirm.
5. Tap the red Delete Account button.

Deletion happens right away. There is no grace period, so the account cannot be restored afterward.

If you cannot sign in

Email [email protected] from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. Tell us the email address you signed up with. Administrator accounts are removed by our team on request.

What is deleted right away

• Your profile, display name and profile photo
• Journal entries, daily goals and sobriety tracking
• Meeting RSVPs, reactions, channel memberships and badges
• Notifications, preferences, sessions and login history
• Photos, voice recordings and videos you uploaded
• Your email contact record in our email service
• Coaching application details, availability and intake answers

Your messages and posts stay in conversations as a placeholder that reads "This message was removed", with your name removed.

What we keep, and how

• Payment and subscription records are kept without your name or email, linked only to a random anonymous ID, for accounting and legal reasons.
• Our internal audit log is kept with your email and display name removed.
• For accounts that were banned or suspended, we keep a one-way fingerprint of the email address, never the readable address, so a banned account cannot sign up again.

Some of the services we use (for example payment, analytics and error monitoring providers) keep their own records under their own policies. Deleting your account does not remove those.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it with Apple or Google as well, or you may keep being billed.
